			1998 Returned to #43 STP Pontiac and Petty Enterprises. Finished career-best 11th in Winston Cup points with one pole , three top-five finishes and ten top-tens.
			1997 Won first Winston Cup race - the Pepsi 400 at Daytona. Qualified for all 32 races, finished 23rd in final standings, leading 135 laps over 10 occasions and was 12th in number of miles completed.
			1996 Switched to Cale Yarborough’s team for final eight races. Competed in 30 races with two fifth place finishes, five top-tens, earning almost $700,000.1995 Started all 31 races for Kranefuss team with one fourth place, five top-tens, one pole and nearly $600,000 in purses

	1989 Won IMSA Daytona 24 hour race.
	1988 Competed in 24 Hours of LeMans with uncle Mario and cousin Michael, finishing sixth. Started first Indianapolis 500, qualifies 27th, was running seventh before engine failure dropped him to 21st.
	1987 Finished sixth at Road America in first PPG/CART start. Entered five CART events and was top rookie each time.
		1984 Moved up to USAC sprint car series, finishing fifth in driver standings. Started driving IMSA GTP cars.
		1983 Entered USAC midget division and captured Rookie of the Year title.
